We are often asked by new guests staying at the luxury Eiko’s Beach House in Treasure Island, where are some of the closest informal restaurants which serve seafood,  in Treasure Island and are a short 5 minute drive or less from Eiko’s Beach House? We have compiled a list of Treasure Island based seafood restaurants and here are our some of our favourites .

Sloppy Joe’s

Sloppy Joe’s located at 10650 Gulf Blvd,  named after the legendary bar in Key West frequented by Ernest Hemingway, but do they serve seafood? Well yes in a funky style. For example, our guests “love”, the fish tacos. We know a couple who tell us that Sloppy Joe’s as a must visit during their annual stay at Eiko’s Beach House.

Also highly recommended from the menu is the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Affordable, with a great vibe and an off- beat menu, suggest you try your fish in a taco the next time you need to address your seafood fix a little differently.

Caddy’s

Caddy’ Treasure Island, at 9000W Gulf Blvd we have written about in the past as a go to bar but what about  seafood restaurant? Similar to sloppy Joes, an informal beach atmosphere exists where fish and chips, fish tacos and scrumptious shrimp buckets are available. This along with some of the best Margaritas in the area help put Caddy’s Treasure Island on our list of seafood restaurants to visit.

Captain Bill’s Gulfside Tavern

Captain Bill’s Gulfside Tavern, 145 107th Avenue is a hidden gem when it comes to seafood. Where to start? Try the calamari , crab cakes oysters raw or baked, these are out of this world. As a starter, the chicken wings are always a safe and sure bet. The vibes are relaxed and lunch/dinner here puts its guests into vacation mode.

The R Bar

The R Bar at 245 108th Avenue is a long-time local favorite which has been adopted by visitors over the years. This local hangout served reasonably priced drinks in an unpretentious atmosphere. What propelled them to a destination has been its “all you can eat” specials. The number one special is crab legs. Crab legs come hot and keep coming until you say you had enough.

However there are house rules which does not allow you to share this with other members of your party and if you do, you could be charged for a second order so be aware! The R Bar usually has raw oysters but suggest you get there early on special nights as they do tend to run out especially when crab legs are sold.  This is an old school, no frills establishment so come hungry learn how to crack open the crab!

Middle Grounds

Our last but not least seafood restaurant in Treasure Island is Middle Grounds at 10925 gulf Blvd.  A short drive from Eiko’s Beach House. Middle Grounds is more high end and definitely a place to go when  you want to impress. The décor and service is additionally upscale and both the seafood and steak menus are worth trying.

Check out the specials but unless something totally grabs us, we love the mango nut crusted grouper which is truly heavenly. As a starter we suggest the seared tuna sashimi.  The Alaska crab legs also are high on our list as well as the scallops. This restaurant is open only for dinner and it is not the place to go if you are on a budget. However they usually have live music in the bar area and their cocktails are ample. Worth a try especially when celebrating a special occasion.

There you have it, local Treasure island seafood go to places only minutes from Eiko’s Beach House. The wonder about these locations is that after a hearty meal it is possible to be home prior to sunset and then enjoy a tip in the heated pool or plunge into the hot tub. All this is possible in your personal paradise, Eiko’s Beach House in Treasure Island, Florida.
