If you wish to visit the Pinellas Outdoor Shooting Range, there is a set of guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone.

Dress Code

Before shooting some targets, you have to wear the proper gear. You can’t just walk in the range without considering your dress code. A proper dress code equates to safety.

When you fire guns, there is brass flying everywhere so avoid wearing low-cut collars and wear closed shoes only. It’s important to protect every part of your body when you’re shooting a gun.

Even if a gun is fired a few miles away from you, there’s still a possibility that you might hear it. Imagine if you’re the one already holding the firearm, it can be extremely loud and almost deafening. There can also be dust particles or smoke that may harm your eyes. Remember to always wear eye and ear protection at all times.

At certain points of the day, the shooting range can be extremely hot. We suggest that you wear a hat not only to protect you from the sun or any kind of weather but also to have added protection from other elements.

Lastly, the Pinellas Outdoor Shooting Range offers different activities for all age groups. So everyone who visits needs to avoid any sort of profane language.

Rifle and Pistol Rules

When it comes to loading handguns, center fire and rim fire rifles, the users may load ammunition to its maximum capacity with a minimum of 2 second interval in every shot. According to the range rules, center fire rifles can only be shot from the bench.

General Guidelines

To ensure the security and safety of the visitors of Pinellas Outdoor Shooting Range, they can only shoot a firearm in the presence of a Range Officer. Additionally, anyone who will not use a firearm should not be anywhere near the firing range.

Despite the fact that Pinellas Outdoor Shooting Range offers activities for all ages, anyone with the age of below 18 should be under adult supervision. At all times, the accompanying adult should only be within an arm’s length away from the children to maintain everyone’s safety. To further ensure safety, if a person needs to move from one range to another, they need to keep the muzzle of their firearm aimed at a safe direction and placed in a case.

Everyone is advised not to shoot uncontrolled and rapid fire in the range. The Range Officer will always be there to determine whether a firearm is unsafe to fire. More than that, they will also safeguard everyone in the shooting range. This means that if there’s anyone on the range that is intoxicated will immediately be removed.

Inside the premises of the Pinellas Outdoor Shooting Range, no one is allowed to conduct any sort of gun selling business. No one is also allowed to carry a holstered handgun unless they are part of the law enforcement or if there are special action pistol events.

Additionally, if anyone is seen to lack care or proficiency in handling a firearm, will also be asked to leave the shooting range. In the event anyone causes purposeful destruction of the facilities, they will be asked to pay a minimum of $25.

When it comes to targets, no one is allowed to shoot a human silhouette during the operating hours of the club unless it is sold by the Wyoming Antelope Club. More than that, each person is only permitted to shoot a single paper target. In addition, the Club will not allow any type of tracer ammunition or exploding targets.
