Prohibition laws on Drinking in Treasure Island
Treasure Island consists of nearly four sandy miles of beach which are within the grasp of the beautiful residential area of sunset beach. Being under a residential area had been the major cause for strict alcohol prohibitions to arise due to numerous uncivil events that have been taking place over the years.
Hence, it’s only so obvious that the city commission manager and the local police department of Florida have brought in a few laws to keep things under better control. Even though drinking is still allowed on the beaches of Treasure Island. It is, however, not considered ideal all the time.
The restrictions in terms of the area range between the block from 8500 to 9900 on the beach straight from the shoreline to the Southside of public access within the Southward of 99th avenue to the North of the public access beach at West Gulf Boulevard on the Northside of the Sunset Chateau.
Each alcohol restricted area is marked with warning signs visible for the public.
The restrictions usually go into effect from the first weekend of February to the last weekend of September on an annual basis. On Sunday, Saturday, and national holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, the strict restrictions on alcohol come into effect within the hours of 8 A.M. to 6 P.M.

1. Prohibition- it is strictly prohibited for any certain individual or groups of individuals to carry on or consume alcoholic beverages in any sort of container owned or brought by them (cans, bottles, glasses, etc.) This however does not apply if any container of alcoholic beverages is still unopened since the time it was originally manufactured.

3. Appliance of Restrictions- the following restrictions stated above only apply within the period of 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. during Sunday and Saturdays and the national holidays of Memorial Day, labor day, and independence day.
4. Exemptions- Beer or wine may be consumed with a granted permission receipt from the city manager within the context of a special event taking place in Sunset Vista Park and Beach Pavilion exclusively on the days and areas stated as restricted above.
Failing to meet the prohibited laws will result in several charges and tickets if the violation is proven with direct evidence. Court hearings and fines are some of the extreme consequences to be faced for violators.
However, at most times the police officials regulating or patrolling any use of alcoholic beverages within the restricted beach area will be asked to pour out their drink and given a fair warning. No kegs of alcohol or glasses will be tolerated either.
